A very common discussion that is rising in popularity is the debate on whether the world will in fact end in 2012 or if it will just signify the beginning of the end.

Alot of theories have been made about the 21st of December, 2012. The most famous theory is by that of Nostradamus, a philosopher who is said to have predicted three antichrists, two of which were Napoleon and Adolf Hitler. He has predicted that a third antichrist will soon rise, some say from a super power country such as America [that is why there have been many fingers pointed at presidents], that will bring such chaos upon the world that we will destroy our own lives. One of the most possible to fill this role is, apparantly, Osama Bin Laden. Many said that Saddam Hussein was the third antichrist but, now that he is gone, only Bin Laden is left.

"Long awaited he will never return
In Europe, he will appear in Asia:
One of the league issued from the great Hermes,
And he will grow over all the Kings of the East."

After reading the claim, it is quite possible that Bin Laden is the third antichrist as he has been missing for a very long time now and there are still conflicts going on over the whole 9/11 incident.
Similar stories have been told of an end of the world situation in 2012 through many other cultures such as the Mayans and the Chinese.

However, what do you think? Will the world end or will a great change occur?

In my own personal opinion, I see it as a bit of a fuss over nothing yet I still do worry about it. For the past while there have been plenty of natural disasters "but these have always occured" is a natural sentence in order to pass them off as nothing. Nostradamus was a great philosopher and his prediction of Hitler is one that I can remember very well [He mentioned the word "Hister" and told of an evil rising in Northern Europe and spreading]. However, the world was supposed to have ended many times. The main big occurence that I can remember personally was the whole yr2000 thing.
My own personal belief, and that of a number of scientists, is that Earth will slowly shift so that the planet falls onto a new angle which would cause NYC to become the new North Pole. If that were to occur then it may already be happening. It is a slow motion that is barely noticeable. However, if the planet were to suddenly shift very suddenly, there could be a series of natural disasters in the world such as earthquakes, volcanoes erupting, tsunamis, and many other things. To be honest, the high rise in natural disasters recently could be a result of the shifting planet. 2012 won't be the end, but the beginning of change, in my own person opinion.

Don't you guys find it odd that they started the whole "OMG THE WORLD IS GONNA END" RIGHT when we were in an economic crisis (Atleast in north america we are) ?

I'm finding it hard to believe.

The only thing I believe is the magnetic fields and the planets lining up.

if you think about it, people are seriously scared of the whole 2012 madness thing...
Do you think that there would still be war just for that day? I don't know. Maybe not. Or maybe by then enough scientific researches will be made, and they'll prove that nothing will happen.

I remember the craze in 2000.
Everyone were together, some were crying, some were laughing... but all of them were together, and were there for each other. When nothing happened at midnight, everybody was happy and everyone was relieved, we had the most epic new years party LOL.

On a serious note,
on that day/week...
some people might steal, kill themselves, rape, murder, etc...
Just because they think they'll die.

But it's true. Some people will kill themselve. I think that there won't change much.. Maybe that it will be colder then normal.. But I don't think that the Earth will end..

I remember when it was 6/06/06 they were like OMG APOCALYPSE AND THE DEVIL WILL COME ON EARTH AND WE'LL BURN.

I remember when I was little, we had a discussion on comets and asteroids that were supposed to hit the earth by 20-- I don't know when XD but all I remember is that my mom and her friends told me that by the time it happens, I'd be 47 or something XD and that was AGES ago, I was only 7 years old when we were talking about that XD

Back then my mom still worked at a Christian Conference Centrum, those guys were terrified. x'D They did nothing but praying together all day, and we were out, making fun of them. x'D Bad me... x'D

Anything to find a reason to worry. First Y2K, then 6/6/06, now 2012. I have to ask, since when did the Mayans become demi-godly anyways. Just because there calenders end December 21, 2012 that has to be the end of the world? Like I anything to worry.

My opinion is that nothing special is going to happen on 2012. Anything that does happen is not anything super special. It was bound to happen eventually, just like these natural disasters. The earth is changing like it always does.
