Microphone Troubles Empty
PostSubject: Microphone Troubles   Microphone Troubles EmptyTue Apr 20, 2010 1:45 pm

Ok, I am not really have any troubles with my mic but I thought I would post some tips if you are having trouble and also if you don't want to buy an expensive mic.

First:

- Make sure you ALWAYS unplug your mic and put it away when you are done. If you leave it plugged in or just sitting there it will collect dust. It is not good for your mic. At least that's what I've been told. XD

- Make sure that the program you are recording in is SET to your microphone. It would either be under Edit or Audio Preferences. Something of that nature. That way, you will be recording with your good mic instead of the built-in mic if you have one. It will make a BIG difference in quality.

- Try NOT to drop your mic. That's just common sense. XD

Second:

- Those who don't want to spend $100+ on a microphone I have a suggestion for you.

http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Uni-Directional-Microphone-Extended-Frequency/dp/B000068IDU/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1271785287&sr=1-7

It's under $20 on Amazon. I've heard that it is decent quality.

If anyone has anymore questions I will try to answer them. I can't guarantee a good answer though. ^^'

Microphone Troubles Empty

My mic is like, really weird. The volume is almost always messed up. Sometimes it's too soft, so You can't hear it through the instrumental, so I have to turn op the volume, and it it affects the quality I think, but sometimes it's to loud, and if somethings too loud, and I don't know if it's because of Audacity or because of my mic, but if it gets too loud it sounds all cracky, and turning down the audio doesn't help.

You will understand what I mean once I upload my God Knows fandub, and you can also hear it at the high parts of A Moon Filled Sky, and it really messed up my cover of Gentlemen Aren't Nice.

Anyone know how to help me?
